Thought Leadership
The importance of community in the professional realm, particularly within the design industry, cannot be overstated. Community fosters a sense of belonging, offers a platform for mutual support, and serves as a rich resource for shared knowledge and inspiration. Giving back to the community not only enriches the ecosystem but also contributes to the individual’s growth and the broader advancement of the field. Thought leadership is a profound way of contributing, enabling seasoned professionals to share insights, experiences, and learnings that can guide and inspire the next generation.
Helping young professionals learn from experienced individuals is especially valuable. It bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world challenges, offering newcomers practical advice, encouragement, and the benefit of hindsight to navigate their careers more effectively.

Public Speaking
Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of participating in numerous industry-sponsored public speaking events, each serving as a platform to share insights, foster dialogue, and contribute to the broader discourse within the design and business communities. My engagements have spanned prestigious academic institutions and esteemed professional organizations, reflecting a commitment to nurturing the next generation of talent and advancing the field.
At Temple University, I had the honor of addressing audiences at both the Tyler School of Art and the Fox School of Business, bridging the realms of creative design and strategic business thinking. My involvement extended to Philadelphia University and West Chester University, where I engaged with students and faculty, sharing experiences and lessons from the forefront of design innovation. Moore College of Art provided a unique opportunity to connect with aspiring female designers, emphasizing the importance of diversity and inclusion in creative disciplines.
Beyond academia, my participation in events hosted by the Arts & Business Council of Philadelphia and the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) allowed me to reach a broader professional audience. These engagements facilitated meaningful discussions on the intersection of art, design, and commerce, underscoring the vital role of design thinking in solving complex business challenges and driving societal progress.
Through these speaking engagements, I have not only been able to impart knowledge and inspire others but also continuously learn from the diverse perspectives and vibrant energy of participants. Each event has reinforced my belief in the power of community engagement and the value of sharing expertise to collectively elevate our practices and impact.
Furthermore, my dedication to fostering a vibrant and collaborative design community led me to be a founding member of PhilaMade, an industry-affiliated organization committed to celebrating and promoting the creative talents within Philadelphia. This endeavor has not only allowed me to contribute to shaping the local design landscape but also provided a platform for connecting like-minded professionals, encouraging innovation, and championing the power of design to transform businesses and communities alike.
